A Watershed for Opeth
For so many of us, a new Opeth album means a new journey into higher musical bliss. The Swedish melo-death maestros have continuously offered up groundbreaking material and have carved a niche in the realm of popular music few metal bands can hope to.
All in all, Watershed is full of very emotional content, but also some very violent moments, but as everything is dosed with great perfection, this makes another great Opeth Album : this may be the album of the year, there are no excuses to miss it! And I already have my ticket to see them in September \m/

Emotional Waters
Amorphis return with a new release Silent Waters.
Death metal with the complexity of progressive metal and the darkness of gothic metal “WHAT?”. This album is a 4 star release for me, the songs are really catchy and memorable with great melodies and musicianship It’s also an album with a lot of variety. (I could go on and on)

Brush off the cobwebs
Annihilation Principle is the fourth album from Californian thrash metal band, Laaz Rockit (Remember them). It was released in 1989 and it embodies all that is good about 80’s thrash metal. Fire in the Hole and Holiday in Cambodia will be the most recognised tracks on the album and at close to 60 minutes long, it’s an hour well spent. \m/ check out more info about this classic album here

On my i-pod ‘Mortiis’ Smells like…… very dark spirits!!!.
Industrial Goth enigma Mortiis’ best album in my opinion.
artist: Mortiis / title:The Smell Of Rain / when: 2001 / format: full length album.
Initial attempts at getting the CD booklet printed up as transparent layers of art and text was turned down by the label several times. Learn more about the album here Stand out track for me is ‘you put a hex on me’ but it’s all great. When talking about the influence for the imagery that his band uses, Mortiis has commented, “A lot of people do not get that you can do more than just look like you’re waiting for a bus. I mean how dull is that? I grew up with KISS, W.A.S.P. and Alice Cooper.
Long live the King… Diamond
The main man has a new album coming out ‘Give Me Your Soul … Please’ and judging by the free song on his website (Never Ending Hill) it’s going to be ACE.
Download the song here I read that the King said “Want to get a little taste of what you might expect from the lyrics? Here you go: Me and my black cat Magic, the beautiful house on Never Ending Hill, the little girl in the bloody dress and her dead little brother, the dark, the floating head woman, shapes of black and YOU.” :O)
Give Me Your Soul … Please is set to be released at the last week of June.
