Hello and welcome to my football section
Just my thoughts on general football issues, mainly the English Premiership. Over here in Australia we have Foxtel (cable) and I can watch a bucket load of live games every week. Plus the Monday highlight show is the best hour of footie on TV. Well I’m a Manchester United fan and it’s nice to see then back at the top of their game. Any suggestions for content email me here.
Patrick Vieira closes in on his transfer to Man City
Inter Milan’s Patrick Vieira is close to joining Manchester City after undergoing a medical at the club.
City, whose boss Roberto Mancini signed Vieira when he was in charge at Inter, hope to complete a permanent deal for the 33-year-old midfielder on Friday.
Inter manager Jose Mourinho revealed on Wednesday that Vieira had played his last game for the Italian champions.
Vieira moved to Italy after bringing his spell in English football to an end when he left Arsenal in the summer of 2005 after nine years at the London club.

Ryan Giggs wins 2009 BBC Sports Personality award
Manchester United star Ryan Giggs was crowned 2009 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The Welsh winger, 36, is the most decorated player in English football with a record 11th Premier League winners’ medal secured this year.
A surprised Giggs is the first footballer to claim the prestigious trophy since England midfielder David Beckham in 2001, with Michael Owen (1998), Paul Gascoigne (1990) and Bobby Moore (1966) the only other football winners.
Fantasy Premier League
OK guys FF starts in about a month, get in the league ‘Jumpers F Goalposts’ crap name I know…. Code to join this league is: 71393-17721. Register here. It’s free by the way.
It’s the he ultimate Fantasy Football game. Take your pick of players plying their trade in the Premier League and put your knowledge and management skills to the test.
With a budget of £100 million squids, choose a squad of 15 players made up of: 2 Goalkeepers, 5 Defenders, 5 Midfielders and 3 Forwards. The players in your squad score points based on how they perform in Premier League matches. No matter which team you support you’ll soon find yourself cheering on every player who’s in your team (I never have a Manchester City player though) lol.
Premier League table
Well it’s very close at the top and the bottom as we pass the Christmas period in the EPL. Arsenal with a game in hand could leapfrog Manchester United into 2nd spot (game called off due to snow), just 1 point off leaders Chelsea.
Portsmouth are in real trouble at the bottom (plus they have NO money at all).
Tottenham, Manchester City, Aston Villa and will be pushing to beat Liverpool into the top 4 this season.
